Set a Policy and ensure compliance

You decide when and where your employees can ride, for example:

  • Maximum number of trips per day e.g. 3
  • Times of travel e.g. between 8am and 5pm or only after 8pm
  • Only trips below for example,  Kshs 2,500/-  per trip are authorized

You can add or remove employees from your corporate account and see trip information for every ride. All trips are billed to the corporate account.

GPS Tracking

It’s easier to monitor and control your fleet when you know where they are. With GPS tracking equipment in the vehicles, we can track any number of our Drivers and see a live display of their position and speed on a map. And because our fleet management system also stores these positions, and logs every detail of a Job’s history, you can go back and see, for example, where the Driver was at a particular time, how fast he was driving, and the route he took for a particular Job. This makes it very easy to resolve any issues. We are also able to tell how much fuel a particular taxi has and whether the doors are open or closed.

Recruitment and Training

We consider our staff to be the most important asset in the company.

personal development of individual staff.

We recruit our drivers as per our Recruitment procedure. Potential drivers are only interviewed if they meet all the statutory requirements for PSV drivers. Those who qualify are taken for driving tests on the road where they are assessed as per our driving assessment criteria. Successful applicants go through a week long orientation program where they undergo in-house training on defensive driving, customer care which covers sensitivity training, sexual harassment training and inappropriate conduct. Thereafter they are appraised on our drivers’ code  of conduct. They then go through a pre-planned tour of all our clients locations as well as key landmarks within Nairobi city e.g. JKIA airport, hotels, government offices etc so as to ensure they are aware of their locations.

We conduct annual refresher training on customer care, defensive driving as well as first aid with external trainers. We are proud to have taken second position during St John’s Ambulance Corporate First Aid Challenge in the year 2014 confirming the seriousness in which our staff treat health and safety issues.


Our fleet management system provides us with various reports that capture vital data. For example our vehicle performance report ranks our drivers based on speed, over RPM, idle time, acceleration, deceleration and curve acceleration. This allows us to monitor our drivers’ performance and take corrective action where necessary as at Express Impress Car Hire Ltd Safety comes first.
